More About Our High School Diploma Program:
Calaveras Adult Education offers a flexible program for busy adults to earn a high school diploma through an independent study format. Students learn from home on their own schedule and meet weekly with a credentialed teacher for support. Weekly meetings are held in person at our Angels Camp Office or virtually, depending on the preferences and needs of each student.
Our program is designed to help students gain credits toward the completion of a high school diploma. Unfortunately, we do not provide services for high school equivalency, such as GED or HiSET preparation or testing.
Our caring staff is available to provide more information if you have questions about what to do next. A high school diploma or equivalent is essential, and we want to help you meet your goals.
Did you know 63% of all jobs in the United States require at least a high school diploma? On average, someone with a high school diploma or equivalent earns $9,620 more per year than a non-graduate.
Calaveras Adult Education is ready to help you take the next step toward a brighter future! Please visit our High School Diploma Program Enrollment page to enroll.
More About Our ESL Program:
Calaveras Adult Education offers a multi-level ESL program for adult English learners. Classes are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Bret Harte High School.
Calaveras Adult Education offers a six-week evening training course designed to prepare participants for one of the most rewarding careers in the field of education. Paraeducators serve a very important role in our schools, providing critical support to learners and classroom teachers. The work is hands-on, meaningful, and interesting.
This course provides foundational information about student learning needs, stages of development, and how a paraeducator creates supportive learning environments through strong relationship-building, targeted interventions, and compassionate understanding. The course also includes preparation for the ESSA exam, a requirement for paraeducators. The ESSA exam is offered at Calaveras County Office of Education and is free of charge.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate that can be included in employment applications. This course is open to those interested in becoming paraeducators as well as those who are new to the profession and would benefit from additional training.
To provide the opportunity and support for students to pursue their individual, educational, career, and personal goals.
