Momentum continues to build in the expansion of Career Technical Education (CTE) as more stakeholders join the ranks. A new grant for $35,000 was just received from the California Health Care Foundation (CHCF) to help build health educational career pathways in the Rural Motherlode Region. Additionally, the Mark Twain Health Care District has just approved a $25,000 grant.

The Mentoring Foundation delivered a check for $100,000 to Calaveras County Office of Education (CCOE) this month – the group’s largest-ever pledge to support youth mentoring in Calaveras County.

On June 7, 2021, the Calaveras County Board of Education provisionally appointed Janet Jones Sterling to fill the vacancy for Trustee Area 4.

Calaveras county has a rich history in education. Members of the community are dedicated to serving the educational needs of the students in Calaveras. The Calaveras County Board of Education (CCBE) is seeking a board member to represent District 4. District 4 currently includes the communities of Angels Camp, Altaville, Salt Spring Valley and Copperopolis.

Bret Harte seniors competing in this year’s State Academic Decathlon (ACADEC) overcame many challenges that come with a virtual student event during a pandemic.

Students from all over Calaveras County participated in this year’s first virtual science fair. Carrying on the tradition and marking this as the 36th annual science fair for Calaveras County students.
